7/15/2003 (Fox 41, www.Fox41.com) Starting today riverboat gamling is a 24-hour business for most Indiana casinos.
The Indiana Gaming Commission ruled last Friday that casinos can stay open 24 hours a day instead of 21 hours a day.
That’s when Belterra and Argosy Casinos began their round-the-clock gambling.
Legislators hope the extra hours will bring in an additional $10-million in taxes from Indiana casinos.
Opponents fear problem gamblers will continue to lose more and more money.
Seven of Indiana’s ten casinos will operate around the clock.
